He tears strips of Labor's budget but then says he will keep the cuts.
Trust me - you can believe that bit. Clever politics imho - defused it with one stroke. He told us why - the budget is in crisis. Good choice of words. Best part of his speech. Nobody cares, they all know they weren't worth keeping.
