agree that this approach is much more professional and they need to protect their reputations and not be seen to hype up a preliminary result and end up with egg on their faces.

assuming they do weekly drilling reports, i think they would still have to mention any hydrocarbon shows, because omitting this detail would fly against their disclosure responsibilities, but perhaps they will emphasize that it is all subject to flow testing.
