I am a consulting geo. have been for 15yrs. May has been the worst month I've ever seen, lots of friends laid off and plenty more about to be. Juniors are dying a slow death, mid tier base and precious metal producers are bleeding heavily. Majors ok but have shelved a lot of expansion plans.
It's good for the industry in a way. Flush out the pretenders and get costs and wages under control. But it is nasty if you have a $500k mortgage and think you are going to find another +100k job easily. Property in WA will inevitably suffer from what is happening atm.
