    Pretty simple really. Don't call anyone something which is designed to be hurtful, denigrate them etc.because of their physical characteristics.

    As to the race issue, it wasn't until 1967 that indigenous people were officially recognised as human in Australia. Before that they were counted as part of the fauna of Australia. To call someone of indigenous background an "ape" is therefore particularly distasteful. It is designed to denigrate and dehumanise.

    That I think puts Eddie's comment in context. The fact that he could even think of the connection between Adam Goodes and King Kong (a giant ape)is the problem. A little bit rascist or full blown rascist. What's the difference?

    Time everyone learnt and understood our Australian history.
