good point gofish - and from memory, didn't the pollies get a good pay rise, but lost some other entitelements - eg a printing allowance (not sure about that!!!).
anyway, the whole lot is grubby - which the libs should never have supported - but seeing that it was the labs that initiated the idea - (even though in pollyspeak, the labs try to claim that it was a joint idea) - then they are slightly more grubby.
the labor party are running out of money - and this was a nice way to get extra funds - and sadly a way to entrench the 2 party system. the parties already get public funding in relation to the number of votes that they get - that should be enough.
