I agree although telstra has said they are responsible because they own the pits and pipes does that mean they are to blame or liable.
I have read no reports telstra had any issues rolling out fibre when asbestos was required to be removed using the correct procedures eg one example sth brisbane.
Telstra made very clear from day one that their network was full of asbestos to the govt, nbn and sub contractors and that proper procedures must be followed when removing asbestos.
I may be incorrect but the issue is with the sub contractors,so the question is why did nbn use sub contractors and not telstra when telstra had the experience.
If anyone decided to go after telstra for compensation surely telstra could go after the sub contractors some being very large companies themselves for not following procedures and contracted by nbn.
Anyone care to give a qualified legal opinion.
A couple of articles seem to suggest coalition may involve telstra alot more in nbn roll out, common sense and should be much faster and more efficient.
ps what a mess, nbn chairperson after nbn ceo's job plus the many managerial departures, our new govt monopoly.
