My apologises to Adam Goodes, my original tirade was in frustration at the abuse of the 'discrimation' card and the amount of media time it involves and other real issues(?) by passed. So generally I stand by what I said originally, but apologise to Adam Goodes because his, indeed may be a genuine case of hurt, that you, hergerr refer to.

It would indeed be impossible for me and most people to know how this feels. Adam Goodes, apparently was the only 'black' kid in a school of 'whites'. I think the word "only" is important here. As such he was bullied and teased by fellow students. His support would have been minimal to non existent. BUT further adding to injury, because he attended a 'white school', he was further teased by his 'black' peers for being different. Growing up such would have been intolerable for any kid. Sorry again Adam Goodes for my insensivities.

Reminds me of a story some of you young people may not be aware of. One of the first and perhaps the greatest of aboriginal painters was Albert Namatjira. Apart from winning a Queen's Medal, he was the first native to receive "Australain Citizenship" about 10 years before his fellow country became entitled (mid 60s). As such he could vote, buy alcohol and live in places where only white people could. Which he did. But here lies the conundrum. Being a white he could buy alcohol, BUT being black, custom mandated that what he had he had to share with his black bretheren. (I wish to stress here, it always gladdened me to see how happy and sharing the urban aboriginal people were before they got the grog.) Anyway, Namatjira shared his alcohol with his bretheren as custom demanded. This earned him the scorn of 'white justice' for providing liqour to blacks and earned him jail time. How could one person such coexist? He died a couple years later in his 50s.
