Hello Stapleman, let’s look at it in context:
Pass the Present and the Future.
The Pass is what has happened.
The Present is now.
The Future is what has not occurred.
Lets us use you as an example.
The Pass was your Birthday.
The Present is now as you read this message.
The Future is unknown, but you can look back on your birth, and reflect on your journey to the Present, and from this you can plan for the Future.
So looking back on your Pass, acknowledging your journey to the Present and looking to the Future is very important, even though the Future will never be known, due to you will always will be chasing the future as you stand in the Present, while you look back on the Pass.
