More stupid american puritanism coming to the surface with more unintended consequences than you can poke a stick at.
They just can't seem to leave things alone in the US and end up creating more problems than they started with, but can always say "it's the law". Tried to prohibit alcohol and all they did is corrupt themselves, put organized crime in business and increase drinking. They then tried to manufacture a "drug problem" with marijuana and succeeded.Again another big win for organised crime that continues to this day.
Prostitution isn't called "the oldest profession" for nothing. To me it's not a crime, it's just a simple private transaction. No harm, no crime.
