    And yes, it is clearly a touchy subject with me because as I said, I grew up where classrooms were about 30% aboriginal. I have also done some time in missions. I have also had a lot to do with talented young aboriginals and I have seen them waste their talents because of no one elses fault but their own. So, yes, it is a touchy subject.

    Anyone in here who has grown up in the northern territory or North Queensland will tell you the same thing. There is only so much the white man can be blamed for. And there comes a time when aborigines need to stand up and take some ownership. Otherwise it is just going to be more of the same.

    And for the record, I would tell any of my aboriginal friends the same thing. I don't fear telling them how it is. I often tell them that they should be proud of their culture and ancenstry, but your ancestors are not going to make your life better. You are the only person who can make a change.
