"Brown Coal Innovation Australia (BCIA) has approved J.C. Steele & Sons Australia for membership.....
Michael Haycock, Managing Director of Steele’s operations in Australia, was pleased to see the company earn recognition for its R&D with Australia’s brown coal reserves (Australia possesses 25% of the world’s known brown coal reserves, a significant but largely untapped natural resource). “We recently integrated our stiff extrusion technology with an Environmental Clean Technology pilot program that converts lignite to a Black Coal Equivalent (BCE),” Haycock noted.

There Haycock makes it clear JCS's sole reason for BCIA inclusion is Coldry.
"Plans for a full-scale plant to prove the economic viability of Coldry are underway. ECT and J.C. Steele & Sons Australia believe that this new process will provide developing nations with an energy security option that uses an affordable fuel source."

When you look at the members - ECT has close dealings with a few members...(CSIRO - Parry haha ?) Vic Govt...and JCoal quote Coldry extensively....BUT:
Why is JC Steele and Sons a BCIA member AND presenting June 17...? Neither Exergen/Ignite use JCS products...! It would also make sense for JCS to present AFTER ECT as well.
"The aim of the seminar is to bring together interested parties, build knowledge in what is now possible for brown coal drying...
Speakers will discuss the state-of-the-art in drying technologies, processes and engineering services to support technology deployment, as well as the latest research. The invited audience will include coal license holders, coal development companies, technologists, financiers , government representatives and researchers.
This will be a chance to see what is possible, and to network with a qualified audience of interested parties, including industry, finance , government and the research community."
A theory - I reckon the June 17 conference is mainly about the $$. Sure - each successful ALDP tech would already have a certain degree/quality of finance by this stage...BUT why not nail this opportunity - make the ALDP/Pilbara happen. I'd say this is the Govt mindset.
The techs have been presented many times, so what is different THIS time...? The Govts will have made their ALDP choices and it will be clear to the invited guests that it is game on until Sept when the $$$ must be finalised.
Financiers whom were previously hesitant to become involved may well take a different view when they KNOW the Govts are 100% behind these techs. Significant.
It would make no sense to hold this conference say end June or later. IMO the Govts recognise finance is very scarce for projects like these...and it makes sense to conduct such a show case June 17 to ensure the techs get the maximum exposure to invited quality financiers etc at the VERY beginning of the ALDP final leg -> Sept.

Shortly after June 17 -> July 1 is the opening of the new Department of State Development and Business Innovation, jointly overseen by State Development Minister Peter Ryan and Innovation Minister Louise Asher. It has been made clear that this new dept is to facilitate the coming Pilbara.
It has been a very very disappointing last 14 months for ESI holders...however there are sooooo many strong positive indicators of what "should" soon occur...crunch time is fast approaching.
tick tock...
