Coco, i also think the reason they have not yet leaped from the springboard is because despite the advances in internet service and speed Australia is way behind other developed countries and even some emerging countries which is a pathetic position to be in. Once this issue has been addressed we will be on our way but in the mean time sustainablility is the goal main objective.
It is a shame previous governments through bad policies and regulations have permitted monopolies to exist that hinder advancement in service, technology and infrastucture.
Im not an IT person or an engineer but I hope this NBN gets up and running soon and I hope it doesn't become obsolete by the time it does. Alot of money is being thrown at this and although fibre optic is much better than copper, spending alot of money on a fixed line that has limits to expansion may lead us to another advancement hinderance when new technology surfaces - the same way the high cost copper lines kept us form better fibre optic technology.
