Read my post #9397453, a few back from this one. No screwing going on, its all part of ASX regulation. Likely reason is to prevent fraudulent activity by scrupulous execs/directors whom could use a buy back mechanism to push sp up in order to trigger performance bonus criteria having been written in their terms of contract with the board. That's my guess and would seem logical.
