Thank you for the feed backs on the rally of support that will take place soon in Tasmania calling for a level playing field etc. I am at the other end of Australia from Tasmania. I wish I could be at the Rally

All along I thought I was the lone voice crying foul. The minority anti-mining environmentalists have been allowed to use the system against the wishes of the major political parties and against the interests of the Tasmanian people who need the jobs to put food on their tables. Even though these projects have been subjected to vigorous EPA guidelines and have received the necessary approvals. The current state of affairs have gone on for far too long to be unbelievable and absurd.

"Tasmania ranks at the bottom among Australian states on virtually every dimension of economic, social, and cultural performance......." according to one report.

Cost of starting a mining project is very very high with attendant risks which the project invariably encounters as it progresses through the various stages towards the actual building of the plant. It is also by no means meant that its project is complete on the plant's completion and the money can start rolling in. That is only the start. Notwithstanding, as the matters stand today, the approved project still needs to contend with the disruptions and delays brought about by this anti-mining minority group wearing the hats of the environmentalists? Very very sad and pathetic situation indeed!!!
