I feel for you. Have made same move myself and decided never again. Most of us do get burnt at some stage in our adventures on the SM.

Yea, most of the large advisory groups are aligned to banks or fund managers and will push their product.

You may want to seek out an independent Adviser - the big issue there is finding a good one and not paying $10k PA for a review. The whole FP industry is a bag or worms, here and in the UK and the US.

I had one plan done and it contained 56 pages of detailed expenditure data for the next 40 years. I can do that myself on a SS - LOL. They never got paid and decided it was not worth pursuing.
