I used to trade Soya bean meal in South Africa and freight costs are very dependant on vessel size...

Generally the larger the vessel the cheaper the cost per ton of product....

If certain companies are restricted to certain ships and if the volume is not very large, they will more than likely pay a premium for Freight...

Shipping is all about volume IMO
