a few points on the relatively little I've really read from this thread. 1) The fact writers in Christ's own time or the early years of AD record little, indeed mostly nothing, of him, is irrelevant, Christ himself lived a "humble" life and scholars would expect to find little recorded of him. 2) Many of the events surrounding his life, ie, the "slaughter of the innocents" are completely in keeping with the events and personalities of the time - sadly, man does indeed do violence to his fellow man very well! 3) Finally, someone made the point re so-called similar stories to the life Christ found in other ancient religions i) scholars would dispute some these claims outright and ii) when considering Christ, you can only draw upon his Jewish roots, the other religions described are pagan in origin.
