Stephen118, IBM Australia are a standalone entity. I guess you could say the parent is in the US as that's where the head honcho is.
Agree companies need profits but IBM Australia is just transferring local jobs to India, China, Vietnam where on historical experience the customers will suffer whilst paying the same dollar price.
If we have to think in Global terms, we need to stop thinking about anything local.
If GM pull out of Australia because we are too expensive then so be it. But there is nothing but money grabbing for any of our banks to offshore jobs.
How can a bank make a $2+ billion profit and still lay straight in bed. What a great business to be in.
