Anyone here think Australia is immune.
We can't shoot down every migrating bird from Indonesia and PNG.
So the way I see it is a blanket live bird and poultry import ban will occur in the near future. Even killed, frozen chooks would be banned as poorly sourced and there's lots of dead dogs and cats in Asia testament to the fact eating H5N1 infected birds kills (and a Tiger in a Thai zoo).
The EU look set to do the same.
Australia is likely to see H5N1 locally in the next 2 months per bird migration data.
The poultry industry will go indoors and be screaming for protection.
Food retailers and restaurants will cop it.
IMU will probably do bugger all. No one but them and the CSIRO know whether their vaccine will likely do the trick. But if positive trial results are announced as H5N1 hits our shores it should go off a cracker.
Its a punt. H5N1 may not arrive and their vaccine might be crap and the trial fail.
Many here will scream how terrible the company is but these blokes, although they may have some reasonable points, did the same job on BTA at 46c.
Take it all with a grain of salt and know that money management is the key. Know what you can lose.
    Good luck.
