I pay the highest respect to those who went into war over the past century.
todays generation wouldn't have the guts like the thousands who lost their lives for our benefit.
I think you'd be surprised. I'm one generation closer to them than most here. My Dad and uncles fought and my brothers and I all wore uniform in the regulars, we would have if needed. All very normal folk.
Our VC winners, and I'm thinking of Keith Payne particularly, were cut from different cloth though. his book is a good read.
