why bother if, for example, you are filthy rich many live the high life, without any, or much, concern for others in fact, most humans on this planet don't practically give a toss about how their actions contribute to suffering of others (especially non-humans) - they may say that they do, but their actions of body contradict their words and then they die - end of story (according to 'you').
