Pisces, Matt Hayden, who was the best opener in the game suffered the same fate as Lehman. Taylor wasn't a fan and he didn't get a fair go until Steve Waugh took over.
Hayden had plenty of chances early on, he just didn't take them...he was shaping up as a Graeme Hick type who dominated domestic cricket and couldn't step up. He just needed a few more years experience under his belt.
I agree Lehman should have played a lot more than he did, 12th man at 19 and debuted about 10 years later...meantime plenty of mediocre players were selected in his place.
