AP, there wasn't much faith shown in Hayden. I remember Hayden getting quickly dropped while Taylor was going through a Greg Chappell like form slump. All it took was for someone like Waugh to show some faith and patience.
But, what it does show is the quality of player we had back then and mediocre our players are today. Sheffield Shield batting averages are well down on the past. How would blokes like, Law, Cox and Siddons feel with today's selection policies.
I think our selectors are just feeding the Gen Y attitude of having things come easy to them. As i said, i can't believe we have people in paid positions to make these mistakes.
