Following your logic that super high quality REE can be sourced online through google you are basically saying Lynas and the whole team are idiots spending hundreds of million of dollars to produce a plant which creates a product that can easily sourced online. Also BASF and Sojitz are total idiots because they don’t need to go to Lynas anymore they can hire personal assistants to go to google and source contacts and suppliers. Its not that easy seriously. Importing REEs from China the Government treats you like you are sourcing cocaine almost.
Yes Lynas has an competitive edge and their quality is on par with the Blue-chip rare earth companies in China FACT, keep in mind the brains behind the design of the plant are created by the Chinese themselves.
Now keep in mind there are 2 types of smugglers in China. There is the crappy poor villager smugglers and there is the sophisticated high level government official smugglers.
The poor villager farmers basically just dig up the REE earth and mix it in sulphuric acid and basically create a concentrate which they sell off and the buyer still have to further process the concentrate themselves to create a refined product. Lynas has an edge on them obviously.
Now the high level corruption smuggler which buys the REE from Baotou and then pay bribes to the custom guards to look te other way. Then Lynas don’t have an edge.
My Question to you Jantimot, Do you know which city one would go to buy these imported illegal goods?
