At great personal risk (of a government vendetta) Julian Assange, Private Bradley Manning and Edward Snowden revealed what US politicians and public agencies have conspired to keep secret:
The massacre of unarmed Iragis by a helicopter gunship for sport in Baghdad. And the amassing of telephone e-mail and social network views around the globe for threat profiling for more intensive spying.
The US government's conspiracy against US citizens is designed to intimidate them into silence and obedience.
News is what governments, corporations and billionaires (like Gina Rinehart) don't want you to know. Everything else is public relations, spin, hype and outright lies.
The best way to save democracy is to be seditious. Evil multiplies because good people say nothing. Assange, Manning and Snowden are brave men who have my admiration, respect and gratitude.
