The way that I look at it is that as Australia goes into recession which I fully agree with then the AUD will plummet faster than a blink of an eye. It won't rise because the AUD is not a reserve currency like the USD is.

In fact I would probably be as bold to stick my head out and say that Australia going into recession will most likely push the USD up even further as people dump the AUD and flock to the so called safety of the USD!!

This in turn will probably keep the AUD gold price at very lofty levels.
