At worse the polls will be close but I Rudd and the media can put Abbott under scrutiny I think Abbott will lose support, Abbott will avoid it but in doing so he will not gain the trust of the swinging voters.
As for the Senate, even if Abbott can win control the Senators don't take there seats for some time so Abbott would still face a hostile senate for some time.
I read that a number of marginal and at risk labor seats are already stating to look safe, it will be interesting to see which way Palmers party preferences will go given he was banished from the LNP
