    Just one 'minor' point:

    I think it is accepted that to lock someone up for 1 Year cost at least $80.000 to $100.000

    Multiply that figure by 15 gives you at least $1,200,000
    cost to the taxpayers.


    When you consider that many people get locked up for trivial offenses - like being drunk - especially Aboriginals, who have an appaling rate of imprisonment - would you say the policy is smart ?
