1,Management were doing the finance for ages while gold was at record highs.
2, Gold cant be the backer of currency anymore because they have realised that they flooded the market so much with printed money that there is not enough gold in the world to match it. Gold has now defaulted to its true value for use in jewelerry and electronice etc only and there is far to much of it in the world for it to be high ever again. It will now only sit at its true value. Accept it.
