Similar story here in Broome Cuppa. Even in the middle of the tourist season there are still businesses closing. Rents in the shopping centers and downtown are ridiculous. I don't know how many small businesses make any money at all. I have to admit I'm on the right side of the coin here as I have a commercial unit I lease to a government department. They've been in there since it was built and have just signed up for another three years. As a taxpayer I'm disgusted at what the government is prepared to pay for commercial space, but as a landlord I'm pretty pleased.
