The German economy 'has been' robust for years in the past via their massive factories and the vast employment it provided to its citizens. Generally speaking French and English citizens like German citizens if not employed, will turn indifferent and extremely socialist. I can only see a 'space aviation' and digital technology expenditure to be fully integrated type economy will get the Germans out of the rut ,as Germans are the engineering and technology elite. It is a pity East Germany has been washed away, in a way.. Russia hasn't had a space aviation disaster since the mid 1970's.
