re: andrew mason - more detail - hardmano capman

I could respond with a long discussion of why any company benefits from having one or more truely independent board members but I don't have time at present. Suffice to say that just as you wouldn't really want any of the current board to be there forever .. change and new blood on the board is a good thing. In terms of corporate governance its a good thing as well. The current directors are doing a good job but there are a few areas where many of us feel they could do better.

Its probably up to the smaller shareholders and some of the institutional shareholders to be convinced of the benefit otherwise Andrew won't be elected. Don't you think there might be some benefit to having a representative on the board who does not have a "history" with current management and who could be "our reperesentative"???

Really .. what does Alan Burns do for the enormous amount of money we pay him??? And don't you ever think that the very generous options given to director's each year are a bit sus?? there's plenty of scope for improvement IMHO.
