JonnoH, it would be interesting to see all of those that have previously claimed that wireless will render fixed line obsolete, how they would fare competing against homes with a fixed line connection.
I don't know how many would stand by their conviction about the not needing a fixed line and opt out of a NBN connection, (very few I would guess).
VDSL quality is as variable as ADSL.
ADSL2+ can be as little as 0.6Mbps to up around 20Mpbs.
VDSL has the same issue with variables, so the actual results achieved in the real world would be just as extreme.
Hence be very wary of up to speed claims, as it is not representative of what you will actually receive.
Setting a minimum service speed can be a better and more representative way of assessing what you are getting.
VDSL is still a band aid solution that will require upgrading within a very short period of time.
