    Australian is a trillion dollar economy

    By your logic that's a "pull" factor and the Govt should make Aust poorer i.e less pull

    It is against the law to threaten and risk someones life

    we don't want Rudd or Garret (or Abbott) checking every ute for credentials

    Do you want big brother ? I don't
    Do you want extra red tape ? I don't
    the bosses knew it was dangerous

    There are laws against negligence
    If businesses knowingly risk peoples lives they should see the full force of the law

    The laws and common sense is enough to let bosses know that
    sending kids up on a roof stapling while the power is on is negligent! If they then still do it they should see the full force of the law. Unfortunately some will still do it
    That is human nature - but no amount of red tape will solve that
