    ddzx, that is a ridiculous, defeatist attitude.

    People always used to work until they were 65 and be financially secure. My father started out as a coal miner, but worked his way through the ranks and by the time he retired at 60 (compulsory retrenchment) he was fine financially. Likewise my uncles and aunts.

    You don't have to profit from others to get there. Hard work is a valid substitute, and far more satisfying. Mind you, in their deprived lives they didn't have overseas holidays, multiple cars, eating out, coffee mornings at the mall but then bingo - they'd saved enough to retire! Amazing.
