    Hi GZ.

    Would there be air disturbance where the water and land meet, say a down draft that would cause them to lose height.

    Actually I would think it would be safer not to touch down so near the edge of water, but further down runway.

    Brampton Island has such a runway, and many decades ago , I heard a twin engine aircraft left his undercarriage on the beach by being too low.

    what I am trying to find out is, the water level is a couple of metres lower than start of runway, would that put pilot's judgement off with optical illusion, and also instruments.

    Have seen some Y tube footage of Commercial aircraft flying just over people's head on the beach and vehicles on the road as they approach runway.

    Scary to say the least.
