As Ironbark Zinc gears up for first production from its world-class $US430M Greenland zinc-lead project in 2016, the Australian company is looking for base metals targets to be funded from its $US50M Glencore Xstrata M&A facility.
Ironbark M/D Jonathan Downes has told Mining Business Media the company has been close to an acquisition on at least one occasion recently and the evaluation process continues.
However, the focus is on its 13Blb Citronen project, one of the world’s largest undeveloped zinc-lead resources, where Downes expects to have the EPC and financials bedded down by the end of this year, with construction/mining in 2015 and production in 2016, ramping up to around 3.3Mtpa of concentrate.
