The most obvious thing about Rudd NOT calling an election and going into caretaker "all things equal" mode is that he has to share the media limelight 50/50 with Tony, cant bring himself to do it. Very afraid is our dear Kevin. Can only and probably will only do it under protection of NPC.

Kevin cannot govern under most circumstances, but the one circumstance that is goes completely against his mentality is governing under austerity - thats where his ego is simply not up to task.
