It's all very confusing...one wonder's whom to believe..
The evidence linking the consumption of fish to the risk of cancer is poor.[6] Supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids does not appear to affect this either.[7] High blood levels of omega-3 fatty acid is linked to less prostate cancer.[8]
A 2006 review concluded that there was no link between omega-3 fatty acids and cancer.[9] This is similar to the findings of a review of studies up to February 2002 that failed to find clear effects of long and shorter chain omega-3 fats on total mortality, combined cardiovascular events and cancer.[10][11] In those with advanced cancer and cachexia, omega-3 fatty acids supplements may be of benefit, improving appetite, weight, and quality of life.[12] Marine omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids appear to reduce the risk of breast cancer.[13]
