Thanks Benny. That's encouraging. To my mind Microsoft and I will part company as soon as I feel confident I can support my essential software with Linux.
I still marvel at how far personal computing has come. Those days at Uni queueing up for the punch card nmachine to run a card deck on the IBM 360, then, writing and running assembler programs on the DEC PDP 8 machine that had a massive 4k of memory! All the time reading Byte magazine and marvelling at the Apple II and the Commodore etc etc.... and the...colour displays....
