re: Ann: Algae.Tec Announces Biofuels Refiner... I was surprised at the focus of establishing this in Australia as my understanding from previous investment in biofuel (total failure by the way) is that Europe is where the interest is due to their clean energy focus and acceptance.

Australia is a small market in anyone's terms but the biofuel sector is a very small sector in a small market so it would be hard to build a business case for it in Australia in the short to medium term in my view.

Solar is good except that we've yet to produce any technology that can be commercially effective and harnesses even a fraction of the energy found in sunlight. Solar is commercial but generally only with subsidies at this stage. Likewise it is not suitable for all applications and of course the sun doesn't shine 24/7 at any fixed location.

I only came across AEB today and have had a quick look, their cash position seems very precarious with a large cash burn rate for a spec stock. It surprises me that their share price is as high as it is. This is not intended as a downramp, just making my observations based on what I've seen to this point, ie a couple of hours research and former knowledge of the clean energy sector through previous investments in SOO (sold out at about breakeven) and NFL (which went into administration just as they were completing a large biofuel refinery in Singapore).
