I was at Bangkok airport at 4.30 one morning waiting to check in for a flight home. The place was packed. A large crowd of which I was part were being funneled into a single line. It was going to be a long wait.
Then I noticed the odd passenger move out of the funnel and move direct to the head as it entered the single line barricade, thereby jumping the queue.
I'm a good natured sort of person who usually remains calm. This wasn't one of those times. The next person to sneak ahead copped it. I bellowed and pointed him out and in no uncertain fashion ordered him to go back where he came from. I was very loud with just a hint of menace. He scurried off like a mongrel dog. No one attempted to jump that queue again.
The next ten minutes passed in a blur of smiles and encouragement from my fellow passengers.
You see, nobody but nobody likes queue jumpers.
