I'm bewildered by announcements being made by both Tap and Ophir. Normally announcements are made by the Operator (Ophir).
First we had
Then we had Ophir's announcement (To the London S/E?)
Tap made a "Final Update" Announcement
Having read the above I now make the following comments.
ONE Why does Tap say:-
Is it only Tap that considers there is residual oil or does the Operator consider that too?
TWO. From Nick Cooper's (CEO Ophir) comments Starfish-1 was not their most favoured exploration target. Ophir considers prospects "outboard" to be highly prospective.
THREE Also from Nick Cooper's comments Ophir WILL be drilling more wells on the Accra Block targeting the "öutboard" prospects.
FOUR. In view of Ophir's obvious expertise in oil exploration in Africa I would be outraged if Tap pulled out of further exploration and allowed Ophir (and others) to benefit from Tap's (our) efforts.
