mrlunoon, well done, that's one of the best posts I have ever seen in the property section.

The constant bulls vs bears debate grates on me, gloating and putting other people down. I suspect many of the antagonists grossly overstate their wealth, everyone is a legend on their own keyboard. I actually suspect the bears are the ones that sold hoping for a crash that never came and the bulls are those that will go to the wall if interest rates rise or prices crash, and come here hoping to comfort themselves.

Its refreshing to see someone reveal a side often forgotten, and that is the security a family feels with a roof over their heads, even if they only own a few of the roof tiles and the bank has a mortgage over the rest.

Me, I suffer from analysis paralysis. I procrastinate and miss out on opportunities. I think if I sell now and the crash comes, I can buy a better standard of living I cant currently afford. I then think I should buy another one in case property makes a combeback when the govt looks to stimulate an old favourite sector of the economy. You can see why I just sit on the fence, its safer up here!!!!

I sincerely hope you and your family find yourselves more than a house, but a home. Best of luck and thanks for sharing your story.
