May have already been answered, but has the UK approved hydrocarbon production via hydraulic fraccing?

France has extended its shale gas ban and most of the EU is adopting the same policy. Would this affect the UK? But in saying that, Britain has had a lot more exposure to oil and gas production through the offshore North Sea fields....so not sure if this knowledge will permeate into a policy for the approval of onshore shale fluid production??
