Why would they need cash? Its a loan! They already gave them the money butthead. They just wont get it back. As for insolvency, you may want to find out about the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority whos sole job is to ensure financial institutions have sufficient liquidity to meet any funding needs. Furthurmore, all banks have a slush fund called "bad debt provisions" which is common knowledge. ANZ said this years losses are BELOW expectations.
