Property, ahhh sigh, owned 4 different properties between, 1995 and 2005.
Been there done that, done the reno's, kitchen, bathroom, paint. Done the extensions, not worth the hassle. Had the acreage, yep, spent weekends swinging off brushcutters and my ass stuck on the ride-on mower. Had another acreage up on the Atherton Tablelands, took me 2 months to clean up after Cyclone Larry.
Everyone made less $$$ margin than the last one. Ins & outs got more expensive everytime, rates, conveyancing, stamp duty, real estate fees.
Sold up and went nomadic for about 5 years, white van and a black dog. Priceless travels.
Now I rent, and love it. Ring up the landlord, fix this, fix that, mow the lawns... I'm heading down the coast in the campervan, or up the snow, or to the high country.
No debts, no stress, no traffic jams. Money in the bank and backyard. No worries.
