I think it depends what you are comparing the electric scooters to. Most reviewers initially would compare them to petrol scooters as this is probably in most cases the alternative purchase decision.

Most reviews in this context can be expected to be negative - as you rightly suggest as electric scooters are still short of petrol scooters in terms of power and distance etc.

To me a more valid comparison is Vmoto electric scooters with other electric scooter manufacturers/models. In this context I think Vmoto are about par with most other manufacturers - but you also have to consider the price point with the quality of respective models when comparing.

One of the better indicators for me will be just how quickly the Vmoto models made for the China market take off...being a new entrant in a relatively well established electric scooter market.
