Imagine you're sitting at the top looking at 3 things:
1. GBG (Product) = 100 designer handbags 2. Financial investment firms (Business) = 1-2 businesses 3. Bots (External bidders and buyers and sellers) = 100 "Other" women 4. Retail investors (Customers)= 10,000 women 5. ASX (Market place) = lovely boutique
At ASX (The market place), many retail investors (female customers) walk in and out and doing some window shopping at the boutique with no one interested in buying handbags and thus the business is not making money.
The business then renovates the boutique. Many "Other women" comes in and buys handbags amongst each other at high prices. Then,... actual women (customers) sees this and gets excited and buys these handbags at lovely prices and they get almost sold out. The business then makes lots of money.
Then there's not much left to sell......
Then, maybe the business should buy the products back so they will have some products to sell.
In turn, "other women" come in the shop again selling handbags to each other at low prices telling each other loudly that this handbag is actually #$%#^%$.
Upon hearing this after leaving the boutique shop, the actual women customers panicked thinking that the handbags are bad, ugly, unfashionable. Then they quickly rush back and sell it because the business is happy to take back the bags at low prices if the customers doesn't want them.
and the cycle continues..... :)
