ANZ makes provisions for "bad debts". Did it make porvision for the $100m El Paso loss before yesterday? If not its "bad debts" have just increased by $100m
also it seems that its $300m owing to the tax debt is not written out of its assets but is in "provisions". when the debt is collected its assets will fall by $300m
banks are regulated by the Reserve Bank
APRA regulates other institutions. it is not very good at it however as it was unable to regulate HIH
clearly I have proved that ANZ is at least $400m worse off than is generally admitted to. in addition we do not know how many power companies ANZ has lent to
time to short,that's for sure!!!!!!!
